We sincerely hope that this pitch competition is helpful to all founders who apply because our goal is not just to evaluate the startup but to also provide thoughtful and direct feedback on the startup and the business opportunity. We also hope that pitching at MVS24 will help founders because they can get in front of many military veteran VCs, angels, and other founders so they can improve their pitch and also market their startup to a supportive and understanding audience.

Eligibility*

Before applying for the pitch competition, confirm your eligibility. Winners will undergo a thorough vetting and due diligence process before funds are transferred. The award of investment funds is contingent upon successful completion of this due diligence. Should a winner fail to meet these requirements, an alternate winner will be chosen.

Valuation: < $10m valuation

Stage: < Series A & < $5m in total raise

Incorporation: Delaware C-Corp*

Ownership: At least 25% veteran ownership⁺

*Applicants can be pending Delaware C-Corp; Required for funds transfer.

⁺Veteran must be one of the (co)founders and on the executive team

Pitch Competition Format

Startup Contestants: 6

Live Pitch: 5 minutes

Q&A: 5 minutes

Winners will be announced 2/9/2024 (Friday) during the conclusion of MVS ‘24. Winners will undergo a thorough vetting and due diligence process before funds are transferred. The award of investment funds is contingent upon successful completion of this due diligence. Should a winner fail to meet these requirements, an alternate winner will be chosen.

Therefore, winners will be identified at MVS24 but only upon completion of diligence will funds be transferred. We anticipate funds being transferred within at least 30 days of the end of the event but ideally within 14 days.
